Day 1: UK Departure
Depart London Heathrow on the scheduled overnight flight to Johannesburg.
Days 2-5: The Palace of the Lost City (BB)
On arrival in Johannesburg, transfer by road to Sun City Resort and to The Palace of the Lost City where you spend the next four nights. The Sun City Resort itself is a complex sited in the crater of an extinct volcano, and the Palace of the Lost City is the jewel in the crown. Opulence takes on a new meaning here, with hand-carved walls, bespoke furnishings and ceilings which tell their own tale. There is an abundance of themed entertainment to enjoy on an evening and a whole host of activities to enjoy in the day – you really can do as little or as much as you like.
You test your wits on the 18-hole Lost City Course which features plains game spectators and a crocodile filled pond, true golfing adventure when you are staying here. Designed by Gary Player, this 18-hole course has been built over undulating and rocky terrain, with spectacular views! Covering more than 100ha, it includes wide fairways and incorporates a series of lakes with interesting water features.
You also get to enjoy a round on the Gary Player Golf Course. As its name implies, this course has been designed by Gary Player and the Gary Player Country Club is ranked as one of the most prestigious in Africa. This 18-hole course is walking only and conforms to the stringent US PGA specifications. Home to the Nedbank Golf Challenge, this course is known to be difficult and demanding and at 7000m is also the longest. Are you ready for it?
Days 6-8: Legends Golf and Safari Resort (FB):
Today you transfer by road to the Legends Golf and Safari Resort where you spend the next three nights. The rooms and suites of this legendary resort are all built in the bush, and there are no fences or gardens – just bush. The panoramic views and glass sliding doors which lead onto secluded patios ensure that the focus is on rest and relaxation with an African wilderness twist.
The resort offers a multitude of activities for you to enjoy, including a full day on safari accompanied by a qualified game ranger who will take you on an experiential adventure through the game rich bush in an open safari game vehicle. You could also arrange to go on a bush walk, mountain bike trail or book yourself into several different adventure activities available locally including Segway safari tours, hot air balloon safaris to name but a few (payable locally).
Of course, the highlight of your stay here would be a round of golf on the Signature Course. Designed in collaboration by no fewer than 18 of the world’s top golfers, including the likes of Colin Montgomerie, Justin Rose and Sergio Garcia, each hole on this 18-hole course has the vision of a great golfer, adding to its unique nature.
Also on offer, should you decide to take it, is the opportunity to take on the Extreme 19th. Few holes in the history of golf have generated as much interest, this is played into an Africa shaped green, but is only accessible by helicopter, this is certainly one for the record books.
Day 9: Departure:
After a morning at leisure, you transfer by road back to Johannesburg for your scheduled flight London Heathrow.
All flights, transfers, meals and accommodation as specified, green fees at the courses specified above, game drives at Legends Resort and airport departure fees.
