With help from a tailwind, our flight home to California got us in nearly and hour ahead of schedule. Everyone was tired from a busy week in Japan and the long flight across the Pacific Ocean. Some were still too excited to be able to sleep on the plane. After passing through customs, we boarded BART and arrived at the Bay Point station about 11:30 AM (3:30 AM in Japan). We were met by Ron Jones, Lee Williams, and Gary Spear for a short ride to Rio Vista and a warm welcome, hamburgers, and light showers. After a few group photographs, everyone headed home for some needed rest. It was an amazing trip that will never be forgotten. Only one day with rain, lots of cherry blossoms, and tearful goodbyes leaving our host families and all our new friends in Japan.
